Celebrating Four Years of 'WaninYaru'



Biophilia Inc., the company behind handmade pet food brands CoCo Gourmet and Miao Gourmet, has successfully celebrated four years of its animal welfare project 'WaninYaru'. This initiative is rooted in the principle that 'no animal should be left behind'. Through collaboration with customers and various animal welfare organizations, WaninYaru aims to foster a sustainable society while enhancing animal welfare.

The past four years have seen significant achievements in animal welfare, made possible by the generous support of loyal members of CoCo Gourmet and Miao Gourmet, as well as collaboration with various animal protection entities. Thanks to these collective efforts, they have successfully delivered meals to numerous rescued dogs and cats.

The Journey of WaninYaru



WaninYaru, initially launched as a part of Biophilia's commitment to animal welfare, officially began in 2019 with the introduction of CoCo Gourmet. The 'One Food for One Food' campaign was also introduced, where every purchase helped provide meals for rescue animals. This laid the foundation for what would become a profound connection between pet lovers and animals in need.

In 2021, the project expanded significantly. By February, meals from CoCo Gourmet were donated to animal welfare organizations, showcasing the increasing community engagement and support. In August of the same year, around 1,000 bags of food were donated to various shelters. By the end of the year, WaninYaru initiated a Christmas charity event, allowing anyone to contribute to CoCo Gourmet donations for rescue dogs.

In early 2022, the initiative took a step further with campaigns enabling customers to donate food through social media interactions, thus broadening the support network for animal welfare.

2023 marked another significant milestone as WaninYaru delivered an impressive 70,805 bags (worth approximately 30 million yen) of CoCo Gourmet and Miao Gourmet to animals in need over a span from February 2021 to May 2025. These figures exemplify the positive impact made over the years through community support and cooperative initiatives.

Voices of Gratitude from Partner Organizations



Numerous animal welfare organizations have expressed their gratitude towards the support received from WaninYaru. For instance, the CocoNail organization highlighted the importance of the meals provided, particularly for animals experiencing transitional stress after rescue. They noted that CoCo Gourmet's nutritional offerings have been instrumental in aiding not only newly rescued animals, but also senior dogs who required special dietary considerations.

BeSail_Animal echoed similar sentiments, noting CoCo Gourmet's appealing aroma and texture, making it a viable option for both senior and young dogs. They praised its complete nutrition and the joy it brings to animals under their care.

The founder and CEO, Kota Iwahashi, emphasized the collective effort in achieving these results. His dedication to animal welfare has been the driving force behind WaninYaru and has motivated him to pursue sustainable solutions within this sector.
