On September 29, 2025, Third Coast Bancshares, Inc. This recognition underscores the company’s innovative contributions to the regional banking sector, particularly in the sphere of risk management and securitization.

Pioneering Financial Strategies

The nomination is a direct acknowledgment of the landmark securitizations that Third Coast executed in 2025. Notably, the company also garnered a nomination for the North American Transaction of the Year alongside EJF Capital, LLC. Together, they were recognized for completing a groundbreaking commercial real estate loan securitization in April 2025, signifying a pioneering effort in financial strategy.

The deal involved a remarkable $200 million synthetic risk transfer (SRT) transaction, distinguishing Third Coast as the first U.S. bank of its asset size—$5 billion—to successfully conduct such a transaction. Previous to this, the smallest institution to execute an SRT deal had assets amounting to $40 billion.
