Third Coast Bancshares Recognized as North American Issuer of the Year Finalist

Third Coast Bancshares Honored as North American Issuer of the Year Finalist

On September 29, 2025, Third Coast Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: TCBX) announced a significant achievement: being named a finalist for the 2025 North American Issuer of the Year by Structured Credit Investor (SCI). This recognition underscores the company’s innovative contributions to the regional banking sector, particularly in the sphere of risk management and securitization.

Pioneering Financial Strategies

The nomination is a direct acknowledgment of the landmark securitizations that Third Coast executed in 2025. Notably, the company also garnered a nomination for the North American Transaction of the Year alongside EJF Capital, LLC. Together, they were recognized for completing a groundbreaking commercial real estate loan securitization in April 2025, signifying a pioneering effort in financial strategy.

The deal involved a remarkable $200 million synthetic risk transfer (SRT) transaction, distinguishing Third Coast as the first U.S. bank of its asset size—$5 billion—to successfully conduct such a transaction. Previous to this, the smallest institution to execute an SRT deal had assets amounting to $40 billion. This breakthrough not only showcases the potential for innovative strategies typically limited to larger banks but also illustrates how these approaches can enhance stability and competitiveness within regional and community banks.

By leveraging these synthetic securitization strategies, Third Coast has effectively reduced its commercial real estate concentration risk and capital requirements, thereby de-risking its balance sheet while generating significant fee income.

Leadership's Perspective

Bart Caraway, Founder, Chairman, President, and CEO of Third Coast Bancshares, expressed pride in the company’s achievements.
