What is Piyorin?

Originating from Aichi Prefecture, Piyorin is a delightful treat made from eggs of the famed Nagoya Cochin chicken, enveloped in a vanilla-rich Bavarian cream and adorned with a light sponge cake. Known for its chick-like shape and exquisite taste, Piyorin has sold over 5 million units to date and was honored as the first non-human ambassador for Nagoya tourism in 2023.

As the anniversary approaches on July 1, 2026, JR Central is poised to unveil more exciting initiatives to celebrate this milestone. This summer, for example, the Kachigawa Station will adopt a Piyorin-themed decoration, and in the fall, a refreshing walking event named “Sawayaka Walking” will kick off, starting from Kachigawa Station.
