As the world embraces the fresh beginnings of a new year, the Spring Festival Gala 2026, hosted by China Media Group, provided an extraordinary platform for Unitree Robotics to display its cutting-edge technology. Marking its third year as the official robotics partner of the event, Unitree captivated audiences with an exhilarating martial arts showcase featuring its autonomous humanoid robots, G1 and H2. This marked the world’s inaugural martial arts performance executed by fully autonomous robots with coordinated and rapid movements.

Pushing the Boundaries of Robot Performance


During this mesmerizing performance, Unitree’s humanoid robots achieved ground-breaking feats, setting multiple world records. Among the notable highlights were:
  • - The first ever free-style parkour sequence on a table.
  • - The world’s highest aerial somersault, reaching over 3 meters in height.
  • - The first single-leg somersault sequence, including a two-step backflip against a wall.
  • - The unprecedented Airflare spin with seven and a half rotations.

The robots exhibited unparalleled agility and coordination, achieving a groundbreaking coordinated movement speed of up to 4 m/s, thanks to their newly developed articulated hands, enabling quick and stable grip changes. These innovations not only redefine the technical limits of humanoid robot performance but also establish a solid foundation for complex applications in future scenarios.

Advanced Group Control Systems


Unitree employed an upgraded group control system to ensure synchronization during the performance, allowing real-time coordinated movement of dozens of robots with minimal latency. The precise synchronization eliminated movement discrepancies, ensuring a seamless visual experience for the audience.

The robots utilized an internally-developed AI fusion localization algorithm that melds proprioceptive data with 3D LiDAR data. This powerful algorithm allows robots to maintain accurate positioning even after performing intense physical movements, preventing any loss of tracking typical of conventional localization algorithms.

In terms of movement control, the Unitree team fine-tuned pre-trained general control models, enabling robots to adjust their positions fluidly while executing martial arts movements. This dual-system approach significantly mitigated cumulative movement errors during lengthy performances, guaranteeing fluid and unified actions throughout the show.
