Key Aspects of Lookmee’s Recognition
Lookmee was selected for its effective contribution to daycare service providers through digital transformation (DX) and the application of generative AI. This innovation has significantly improved both operational efficiency for educators and the overall quality of childcare, allowing more time for educators to engage meaningfully with children.
About Lookmee
Lookmee serves as a pivotal ICT service aimed at enhancing the quality of childcare. It simplifies a wide range of tasks for childcare providers, such as managing children's attendance, monitoring naptimes, creating daily logs and care plans, preparing documents for parents and local authorities, and managing staff schedules.
The Lookmee series efficiently aggregates data from attendance, temperature, naps, meals, and more, automatically transcribing this information into reports and communication logs. Additionally, the “Lookmee Nap Check” feature uses sensors to detect movement and automatically record the child's position during naps. This significantly reduces the administrative burden on educators, allowing them to focus more on interactions with children.
With over 20,000 installations across more than 70 municipalities as of September 2024, Lookmee is transforming the landscape of childcare services throughout Japan.
The Sukusuku Report®
Caregivers keep thorough records of children's growth through individual daily documentation and photographs. On average, this generates about 20,000 words and over 600 photographs per child every three months, which is the equivalent of a short novel.
The Sukusuku Report® employs AI capabilities to summarize these substantial records and visualize key moments from the photographs, making it easier for educators to access class-wide records efficiently. Since starting recruitment for trial facilities in March 2025, over 600 facilities have signed up within just five months.
This feature alleviates the burdensome tasks of documenting and allows educators to devote more time to essential care. The insights gathered from children's activities, growth processes, and individual traits enhance discussions among educators and help with future goal setting for care plans.
Lookmee’s Childcare AI™
Lookmee's Childcare AI™ offers support for creating written communications and ensures a balanced representation of the children in shared photographs. Features like “Prompt Buddy” and “Variation Check” are designed to decrease administrative tasks, allowing caregivers to use this newfound time for meaningful engagement with the children.
Starting October 2024, Unifa will conduct pilot experiments utilizing generative AI technology in childcare facilities across Iwate, Kanagawa, and Tokyo in line with the Child and Family Agency's guidelines.
A Commitment to Human-Centered Care
Despite the integration of AI, Unifa ensures that caregivers remain the heart of the childcare experience. The Childcare AI™ service operates as an assistant, enhancing the educator's capabilities without sacrificing the warmth and personal touch essential in caregiving.
Unifa's innovations represent a blend of advanced technology and passionate care, striving for a nurturing environment for children. Their overarching mission is to create a new societal infrastructure that fosters happiness and well-being for families through the ongoing development of Lookmee and its technology.
