The 43rd Home Renovation Competition is Here!
The Center for Housing Renovation and Conflict Management has been running the renowned Home Renovation Competition since 1985, and this year, exciting new developments are unveiled. Starting April 1, 2026, we invite submissions that not only showcase effective use of existing residential properties but also bring solutions to pressing societal issues.
Categories of Interest
The competition is focused on various themes which include but are not limited to:
- - Effective utilization of residential stock
- - Addressing the severe shortage of skilled workers
- - Revitalizing regional communities
- - Expanding the existing housing distribution and renovation markets
This year, we are particularly interested in innovative renovation projects that demonstrate effective solutions to the challenges faced by society and communities.
New Awards Introduced
In addition to the established recognition categories, a new award has been introduced this year: the "Chairman’s Award from the Japan Housing and Timber Technology Center."
