On May 3, 2025, the Toyo Seikan Group will host the opening event for
Garbage Festival 2025. This exciting event will feature engaging talks and activities centered around waste reduction, specifically in collaboration with the
Takizawa Garbage Club and the well-loved children’s book
Hidden Cat.

The event will welcome renowned comedian and active waste cleaner,
Hidekazu Takizawa, along with
Naoto Nuno, the CEO of Lantre Co., Ltd., who will participate in a lively talk show. For children, the festival will bring the charming world of
Hidden Cat to life with captivating activities.
Moreover, attendees will have a unique opportunity to experience the
Skeleton Packer truck, which offers a transparent view of the waste collection process and allows participants to try loading waste into the vehicle. Those who partake in this activity will receive an exclusive clear folder made from 100% recycled materials sourced from plastic bottle caps.
About the Garbage Festival

Garbage Festival is an initiative led by the
Takizawa Garbage Club that has been celebrated annually since May 3, 2023. This month-long festival raises awareness about waste reduction. Each year, from
Trash Day to
Zero Waste Day, various activities are held across Japan to promote this crucial message. The festival will run from May 3 to May 30, and 2025 marks its
third anniversary.
