Tachikawa Green Week 2026: A Festival for Nature

The Tachikawa Green Week 2026 marks a significant event aimed at addressing the urgent issues of climate change and biodiversity loss. This festival emphasizes the importance of green spaces and aims to foster a deeper connection with nature. The event, themed “Let's Protect, Increase, and Nurture Green,” will see local farmers from Tachikawa showcasing their plants, flowers, and seedlings, thereby enhancing the beauty of spring in the region.

Event Highlights

The festival will take place on Saturday, April 18, from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM at the Farmers Center Minore Tachikawa. The gates will open at 10 AM, welcoming visitors to engage in a variety of activities that celebrate our natural environment.

Free Seedling Distribution

A highlight of the event is the distribution of flower seedlings and saplings free of charge to the first 550 attendees. Tickets for this giveaway will be issued from 10 AM, with colors denoting the type of plant received. Red and green ticket holders will collect seedlings from 11 AM to 12 PM, blue ticket holders from 12:10 PM to 1:10 PM, and yellow ticket holders from 1:20 PM to 2:20 PM.

Additional Giveaways

In an exciting twist, those who fill out a questionnaire at the event will receive a packet of flower or vegetable seeds, limited to the first 300 participants. The seeds available include Asters, Yellow Cosmos, and Radishes. Additionally, there will be a giveaway of compost, with 500 bags available on a first-come, first-served basis, donated by the school lunch department.

The festival will not just be a giveaway event; several engaging activities are also on the agenda:
