Huawei Reveals European White Paper on Intelligent Campus Networks
On October 19, 2026, during the Huawei Network Summit 2026 in Florence, Italy, Huawei, in collaboration with global industry leaders, introduced the "High-Quality 10 Gbps Intelligent Campus Network Technical and Standard White Paper." This significant document outlines strategies aimed at sectors including public services, education, healthcare, and manufacturing. It details the objectives for construction, the framework of required capabilities, and recommended solutions for building safe and intelligent campus networks capable of supporting current and future demands.
The launch event was graced by key figures such as David Chen, Vice President of the Campus Network division at Huawei; Wei Qing, Director of Corporate Solutions at Huawei Italy; and Philippe Breuils from Wifirst, among others. Together, they discussed the critical aspects of the new white paper.
The document identifies
six essential capabilities for an autonomous network: ultra-broadband connectivity at 10 Gbps, versatile connectivity, predictable service quality, energy efficiency, comprehensive security, and network autonomy. Furthermore, it illustrates how to establish a next-generation intelligent networking infrastructure by leveraging advanced technologies. These include multi-access point coordination, intelligent sensing through Wi-Fi, network element collaboration, and a zero-trust security model.
In line with the summit, Huawei announced the modernization of its
Stellar Intelligent Campus Network Solution, designed to cater specifically to intelligent campus needs. Gibbs Wang, President of Global Marketing and Sales for Enterprise Network Solutions, remarked, “Europe is rapidly entering the intelligent era. Digital transformation is not just a trend; it has become a necessity for every sector. The Stellar Intelligent Campus Network Solution addresses this need by creating a more efficient, secure, and intelligent foundation for campus networks, boosting productivity across European enterprises.”
Alex Sun, Vice President of Campus Network Product Line at Huawei, emphasized, “The intelligent era is here, transforming campus networks from simple connectivity infrastructures to intelligent frameworks. The Huawei Stellar Intelligent Campus Network Solution responds to this evolution with exceptionally fast wireless connections, comprehensive security, and autonomous network management. This enables clients to build campus networks that are fast, secure, green, and intelligent.”
Among the notable advantages of Huawei's solutions are:
1.
Super-fast wireless connectivity: Utilizing Wi-Fi 7 Advanced technology, Huawei's solution achieves multi-access point coordination, effectively doubling network performance. The Wi-Fi+X technology also extends wireless networks into a sensory system for intelligent environments.
2.
Comprehensive security: Huawei's solutions ensure asset security by swiftly blocking unusual endpoint behaviors and accurately tracing the source of anomalies. All assets remain fully visible and trustworthy while guaranteeing connection safety through end-to-end encrypted channels with quantum safety measures to prevent data leaks.
3.
Network autonomy: Huawei’s Digital Map and NetMaster tool enables continuous, unattended operations and maintenance with minimal expert intervention. This significantly reduces the average time to repair by 90%. Additionally, the energy-efficient architecture allows for multi-dimensional optimization of energy consumption.
Looking forward, Huawei plans to collaborate with European pioneers, industry organizations, and ecosystem partners to implement the concepts and technologies presented in the white paper across diverse campus networking scenarios. This initiative aims to assist customers in constructing higher-quality, sustainable, and easier-to-manage intelligent campus networks. For those interested, the entire white paper can be accessed
