One Career Partners with Kyoto City for Job Support Project

In a significant development for job seekers and small businesses alike, One Career, based in Shibuya, Tokyo, has been selected for the Kyoto City initiative known as the "2025 Kyoto Small Enterprise Human Resource Acquisition and Retention Support Project." This year marks the second consecutive selection for One Career in this vital initiative.

Overview of the 2025 Project

The primary aim of the project is to promote engagement between small businesses in Kyoto and potential employees, particularly students. Activities will be centered around the Kyoto City Youth Employment Support Center and will include:
  • - Attracting and retaining talent for small businesses: Activities aimed at highlighting the unique aspects of small enterprises in the region.
  • - Facilitating connections between students and businesses: Offering events and exchanges that allow for networking and mutual understanding.
  • - Consultations and support services: Providing guidance for both businesses seeking talent and students navigating the job market.

Future Endeavors

As part of the project, One Career will not only manage and operate the Kyoto City Youth Employment Support Center but will also host a variety of activities designed to strengthen recruitment efforts for local companies. These will include:
  • - Seminars and workshops focused on enhancing hiring capabilities for businesses in Kyoto.
  • - Career development events aimed at improving the job search perspectives of students attending universities in the region.
  • - Networking events for students and companies to foster connections that could lead to future employment.

By implementing these initiatives, One Career aims to create the best possible match between students and small businesses in Kyoto.

Insights from Project Officials

Comment from Minori Takayama, Kyoto City Industrial Tourism Bureau

The shortage of skilled workers in local businesses has become increasingly severe. It is crucial to continue supporting companies in enhancing their recruitment capabilities and facilitating opportunities for interaction between businesses and students. In 2025, we aim to broaden the appeal of local businesses to young people by collaborating with One Career, who possesses unique expertise and valuable data.

Comments from Satomi Yoshinaga, Team Leader of Policy Planning, One Career

We are sincerely grateful for the opportunity to work with Kyoto City for a second consecutive year. Building on last year’s experiences, we will further integrate the connections fostered between local companies, universities, and students with our career data. We are committed to optimizing the matching process between businesses and students and look forward to introducing innovative approaches and perspectives in our second year of collaboration.

Previous Collaborative Efforts

In the previous year (April 2024 - March 2025), One Career expanded its associations with five local governments, including Fukushima Prefecture, Kyoto City, Kobe City, Kumamoto Prefecture, and Tokyo. These initiatives aimed to collectively support job seekers and local enterprises, marking a significant step toward meeting the employment needs of the community.
