China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, known as Sinopec, has announced a significant advancement in shale gas exploration. The company successfully drilled the Tiebei 1HF well to a vertical depth of 5,300 meters, setting a new record in China for vertical depth in shale gas wells. This impressive feat was part of their Project Deep Earth, focused on uncovering natural gas in the Sichuan and Chongqing regions.
The Tiebei well reported a remarkable production capability, yielding 314,500 cubic meters of industrial gas per day. This development is not just a remarkable engineering achievement but also promises to enhance production efficiency and bolster gas reserves in the Puguang area.
