In an effort to tackle critical health issues and promote innovation, Kanagawa Prefecture is set to host the "Science and Technology Forum (ME-BYO Symposium: Lifestyle Habits / Stroke, etc.)" on January 23, 2026. This forum is spearheaded by Fun Medication Corporation, which is entrusted with the operational management of the event through the ME-BYO Summit Kanagawa Executive Committee, with the Prefecture serving as the secretariat.

The overarching objective of this initiative is to meld cutting-edge technology with strategies to improve health at a community level, thereby enhancing life expectancy in the region. The forum will serve to spread awareness of the ME-BYO concept—focusing on preventive healthcare to reduce the onset of diseases—by shedding light on the latest research trends and initiatives for improving lifestyle habits.

The forum will kick off with greetings from Kanagawa Prefectural Governor Yuji Kuroiwa, followed by special lectures from various leaders in health innovation, such as from the Shonan Health Innovation Park and Shonan Kamakura General Hospital. Expected lectures will cover:

• - AI in Blood Pressure and Atherosclerosis Management

Presentation by Dr. Yuichiro Yano, Professor at Juntendo University.

• - Scientific Value of Vascular Age

Insight from Dr. Tomoaki Ishigami, Professor at Yokohama City University Hospital.

Following a brief intermission, further presentations will explore the future of healthcare and wellness literacy in the context of Japan's aging society, featuring insights from academia and business.
