GEM Talks 2026: A Platform for Young Voices
The fifth installment of the
GEM Talks series, backed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, concluded on July 26, 2026. This year's event was held at the
Tokyo International Forum and was graced by the presence of
Princess Takamado, who offered her encouragement to the participants.
Organized by the
5 Crowns Japan, a social contribution organization based in Bunkyo, Tokyo, the GEM Talks not only aims to enhance the public speaking and communication skills of high school students but also to foster a spirit of challenge among them. The program features both workshops and an English presentation contest, encouraging students to express their ideas and aspirations.
Among the numerous entries received from across the nation, ten finalists were selected through a rigorous screening process. Their presentations centered around the thematic prompt:
"Break the Barrier: The Change I Want to Make." With compelling personal narratives and innovative solutions to pressing issues, the finalists delivered passionate speeches that resonated with the audience.
