Cheer on Runners at the Tokyo Marathon 2026!
Are you ready to witness the thrilling finish of the Tokyo Marathon 2026 up close? This year, on March 1st (Sunday), a special viewing area will be set up for the event at the iconic Tokyo Station. The event, aptly named
TOKYO CHEER 2026, aims to invite 1,000 enthusiastic individuals to support the runners as they cross the finish line.

TOKYO CHEER Application Form. You can apply as a group of up to four people, and children under elementary school age can apply with a guardian.
Participant Quotas
- - Morning Session (10:00 AM - 12:00 PM): 400 participants (Final entry by 11:30 AM)
- - Afternoon Session (12:00 PM - 4:00 PM): 600 participants (Final entry by 3:30 PM)
In case applications exceed the number of available slots, a lottery will determine the participants. Successful entrants will be notified by email on February 20, 2026.
Those who are lucky enough to be selected will receive a
TOKYO CHEER 2026 Original Muffler Towel on-site, which you can wave in support of the runners as they complete their race!
Additional Events at TOKYO CHEER 2026
In addition to cheering at the finish line, TOKYO CHEER 2026 will host various activities along the marathon route:
- - Cheering Zones: There will be 20 cheering zones along the marathon course, featuring musical performances, dance acts, and traditional arts aimed at encouraging the runners. More details will be provided on the following link: Cheering Zones Information.
- - Main Venue Events: Adjacent to the finish area, the main venue at the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace will have abundant exciting content from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with entry free of charge. Activities will include public viewings of the marathon on a giant screen, performances by beloved anime characters, stand-up comedy shows, and inspiring talk sessions featuring popular female athletes like Yui Oguri from AKB48.
Experience Japanese Culture and Sports
Visitors can not only cheer but also engage in unique Japanese experiences such as creating traditional fans, food replicas, and enjoying various Japanese street foods offered by food trucks. Furthermore, there will be interactive sports experiences where you can run, jump, and throw, alongside unique activities such as a
Virtual Edo Marathon through VR goggles.
Participants can also embark on a stamp rally around the venue, where those who collect two or more stamps can receive a
TOKYO CHEER Original Amulet, limited to the first 500 attendees!
