In this segment, Dr. Tsuji will discuss not only Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) but also Spinocerebellar Degeneration as a whole. The presentation aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the conditions, focusing on recent findings.
Dr. Tsuji is an esteemed Honorary Professor at the University of Tokyo Hospital’s Department of Neurology and a Special Advisor at the International University of Health and Welfare. In April 2023, he and his research team published promising results suggesting that high doses of reduced coenzyme Q10 (Ubiquinol) may slow the progression of MSA motor symptoms.

Born in 1951 in Wakayama Prefecture, Dr. Tsuji graduated from the University of Tokyo School of Medicine. He has worked in various esteemed institutions such as Jichi Medical University, Niigata University, and the University of Tokyo, where he has been deeply engaged in neurology education, research, and treatment. Known for advancing our understanding and treatment of Spinocerebellar Degeneration and MSA, Dr. Tsuji has also committed to training the next generation of neurologists. He holds leadership roles in numerous professional societies, actively contributing to international neurology forums.

Dr. Tsuji's expertise has earned him accolades such as the Japan Medical Association Medical Award and the Medal with Purple Ribbon, marking him as a leading figure in the field of neurological diseases both nationally and internationally.
