RareMed Celebrated as Pittsburgh's Fastest Growing Company in 2025
RareMed Recognized as Fastest Growing Company in Pittsburgh
RareMed, a trailblazer in offering patient support solutions and improving access to complex therapies, has recently earned recognition as the Fastest Growing Company in Pittsburgh by the Pittsburgh Business Times. This accolade is a significant achievement, highlighting RareMed's remarkable growth trajectory between 2022 and 2024 during the prestigious Fast 50 awards ceremony.
In attendance were nearly two dozen dedicated members of Team RareMed, gathered at Rivers Casino in Downtown Pittsburgh to celebrate this monumental event. During his speech, RareMed's President, Dr. Douglas Gebhard, expressed profound gratitude and humility, attributing the company's success to a philosophy of controlled growth and a commitment to patient and staff satisfaction. Dr. Gebhard emphasized that the outstanding growth RareMed has experienced is not a mere accident of rapid expansion but is grounded in strategic planning, thoughtful partnerships, and unwavering values.
Dr. Gordon Vanscoy, Chairman and CEO of RareMed, echoed this sentiment, proudly stating, "I am so proud of what this team has been able to achieve since the company was founded seven years ago." He elaborated on the company’s philosophy of delivering quality patient care. RareMed achieved extraordinary revenue growth of 359% between 2022 and 2024, translating to an impressive compound annual growth rate of 189%, securing the top position in the Fast 50 list. RareMed had previously ranked sixth, twentieth, and ninth in 2022, 2023, and 2024, respectively.
Despite the accolades and recognition, Dr. Gebhard remains focused on more than just growth metrics. He stated, "Though we're proud of our growth, we don't judge ourselves on our growth. Our focus is on the work that will win us awards for patient satisfaction or national recognition for the quality of our culture." RareMed was recently awarded MMIT's Patient Choice Award for 2025, having achieved the highest patient satisfaction scores within the specialty pharmacy sector for three consecutive years.
The company's stellar reputation is further underscored by its perfect 100-point net promoter score recorded in the first quarter of 2025. RareMed’s workplace culture has been recognized repeatedly, being named among USA Today's national Top Workplaces and Newsweek/WSJ's list of the Most Loved Workplaces, as well as ranking first in its category in the Pittsburgh Business Times' Best Places to Work competition in 2022.
Following the Fast 50 ceremony, the Pittsburgh Business Times published a thoughtful article on RareMed’s focused approach to growth. Evan Rosenberg, Market President and Publisher, commented, "RareMed's success has been remarkable. The company's growth that placed them at number one on this year's Fast 50 is clearly a result of a commitment to excellence and achievement." Dr. Vanscoy reinforced the company's ethos: "We’re proud to work with the Pittsburgh Business Times to come together to support economic drivers in our city. We're committed to building on this success by prioritizing our patient care reputation, foster growth organically, and invest in our talented team." In doing so, RareMed aims not just for growth in numbers but for impactful progress that aligns with their mission to enhance patient care quality.
