MIKATA's First Anniversary: A Milestone in Ventilation Innovation



The ventilation material brand MIKATA, founded by Nippon Jukankyo Co., Ltd., has just celebrated its first anniversary since its launch in May 2025. Over this year, MIKATA has achieved remarkable success with an impressive shipment of materials equivalent to around 26,000 homes. With a growing lineup of seven essential items, the brand is poised to redefine exterior design standards in residential construction.

Background and Challenges



MIKATA was created in response to longstanding issues in Japan's ventilation material market. Since the implementation of the Housing Quality Assurance Act in 2000, the importance of effective ventilation methods has become clear, particularly for ensuring the durability of wooden houses. However, previous products often lacked in aesthetic appeal or showed inconsistent results during installation. With MIKATA, Nippon Jukankyo aimed to overcome these obstacles, delivering stylish, high-performance materials easy to install.

The name MIKATA encapsulates a dual purpose: to provide new perspectives (the Japanese word for perspective, or 'mikata') in housing and to become a reliable ally ('mikata') for builders, craftsmen, and homeowners, creating a mutually beneficial relationship where everyone thrives.

Key Achievements Over the Year



Since its inception, MIKATA has made significant strides, actively contributing to the market. Key achievements include:
  • - Total Annual Shipments: Equivalent to 26,000 homes (calculated from May 16, 2025, to May 15, 2026).
  • - Current Product Line: Expanded to seven items designed to meet diverse installation needs.
  • - Adoption Areas: Nationwide, except for Okinawa, showcasing broad acceptance among contractors and homebuilders.

The current lineup consists of both the R-series for roof ventilation and the E-series for eaves and ridge ventilation, with items that seamlessly blend performance, aesthetics, and ease of installation.

Expanding the Product Lineup



Initially launched with six products, MIKATA has now added REV-15Model2 to its R-series collection, which accommodates roofs with specific designs that previously could not be met. This product greatly enhances the functionality and applicability of MIKATA’s offerings, allowing expansion into wider areas of construction.

The R-series now includes three key items:
  • - RFP-18
  • - REV-15
  • - REV-15Model2

Meanwhile, the E-series comprises:
  • - SEV-15
  • - SEV-15FD
  • - SEV-18
  • - FVC-12

Future Direction



Looking ahead to fiscal year 2026, MIKATA aims to bolster its growth with several key initiatives:
1. Expanding the Product Range: Continued development of new products to address the diverse challenges faced by the construction industry.
