As we approach the implementation of the GX ETS in 2026, understanding the revisions to the GX Promotion Law becomes essential. On June 27, from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM, JPI (Japan Planning Institute) will host an insightful seminar featuring Tohru Shimizu, a senior researcher at the Climate Change Group of the Japan Energy Economics Research Institute.

This seminar will delve into the intricate details of the revised GX Promotion Law, which aims to streamline the processes related to emission trading systems and carbon pricing. An important aspect of this revision is its anticipated introduction and the discussions around it, expected to commence shortly after its passage in the National Diet as early as June 2025.
