Kazemachi Poetic 2025: A Tribute to Takashi Matsumoto's Timeless Lyrics
This September, music lovers are in for a treat as the official project "Kazemachi Poetic 2025" celebrates the 55th anniversary of renowned lyricist Takashi Matsumoto. Known for his evergreen contributions to Japanese pop music, Matsumoto's words weave beautiful landscapes and emotions through song. This remarkable two-day concert, taking place on September 19 and 20 at the Tokyo International Forum Hall A, promises to take the audience on a nostalgic journey filled with cherished melodies.
The extravaganza will showcase a lineup of talented artists reinterpreting Matsumoto's iconic songs across two nights: "Kaze Edition" on September 19 and "Machi Edition" on September 20. With the announcement of additional performers, anticipation builds as stars like Kanna Hashimoto and Haruka Kinoshita join the stage on the Kaze edition night. Both have made notable appearances in film and theater, with Kanna Hashimoto breaking onto the solo scene in 2016 and Haruka Kinoshita gaining fame through her role in the hit drama "Inappropriately Too Much!"
In addition to the line-up changes, eight new songs have been confirmed for performance. The Kaze Edition will include tracks like "A Thousand and One Second Story," "Silver Harmonica," "Underwater Goggles," "First Love," and "Cotton Handkerchief". Meanwhile, the Machi Edition will feature hits such as "Glass Boy," "SCOTCH AND RAIN," and "Slight Fever Boy."
This event is not just a concert; it’s a celebration of the lyrical legacy that Matsumoto has gifted to generations. Concert-goers can expect a carefully curated selection of songs that resonate with both nostalgia and a sense of timelessness.
