Exploring Organizational Strategies with Capcom's Daisuke Mito on HR Leaders Radio Program

HR Leaders Compass: A Journey into Organizational Development

In the world of Human Resources (HR), the evolving landscape poses numerous challenges and opportunities. Join us for an exciting series brought to you by Radio NIKKEI in collaboration with Otobank and Japan's HR Association, 'HR Leaders Compass', where we delve into advanced HR strategies and organizational development.

March Highlight: Daisuke Mito from Capcom

This March, we're honored to welcome Daisuke Mito, Head of Department for the Development Section Four at Capcom, as our monthly guest. With a rich background in HR and now a key player in development, Mito brings a unique perspective on bridging the gap between HR and the workplace.

Exploring Organizational Challenges in Large Scale Development

Mito’s appearance signals a deep dive into pressing organizational issues, particularly in large-scale game development projects. The discussion will cover a variety of topics, from addressing organizational challenges to creating an invigorating environment that fuels creator passion. By shedding light on these areas, Mito aims to maximize the enthusiasm of the team and enhance productivity.

Tackling the Taskification Issue

One major topic Mito will address is the growing trend of taskification—a phenomenon where jobs become mere tasks, stripping away the joys of creation. He poses the critical question: how do we restore a fun and engaging development environment for game creators?

Mito references the 'Success Cycle Model' by Daniel Kim as a framework to improve team dynamics through enhancing relationships—what he describes as ‘buffing’ within build teams. Such strategic insights promise to enrich the discussion, providing listeners with valuable tools for their organizational toolkit.

Initiatives that Energize Teams

During this four-week series, Mito will also outline Capcom's innovative initiatives such as the OS Circle and Skill Circle, unique learning communities that drive cross-departmental collaboration and personal development. These efforts underscore Capcom's commitment to nurturing young talent while addressing broader organizational goals.

Tune Into the Series

The series begins on March 6, with episodes airing every Friday from 7:30 to 7:45 AM and re-broadcasts on Mondays at the same time. You can tune in via Radio NIKKEI, radiko, and podcast platforms like Apple Podcasts and Spotify, making it easy to catch up on conversations about the future of HR and organization development.
