SVA Architects Achieves Six Gold Nugget Awards for Excellence in Affordable Housing Design

SVA Architects Shines at the 2025 Gold Nugget Awards

SVA Architects, an innovative design firm based in California, has again demonstrated its commitment to exceptional architectural design by winning six prestigious Gold Nugget Awards of Merit this year. These accolades were awarded during one of the world's most renowned architectural competitions, celebrating excellence in residential and commercial design.

Recognizing Outstanding Design

The Gold Nugget Awards, part of the Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC), highlight innovative design and planning achievements. This year, the competition drew an impressive 695 entries across more than 60 categories, making recognition as a Merit award winner highly competitive. The esteemed panel of industry experts selected SVA's work as exemplary, showcasing their projects that promote affordability and community well-being.

The award ceremony is scheduled for June 11 at the luxury Westin Anaheim Resort in Anaheim, California, where SVA will be celebrated for its contributions to architectural excellence. Such recognition is a testament to SVA Architects’ longstanding commitment to creating sustainable, accessible, and vibrant communities.

Award-Winning Projects

The six projects recognized at the awards ceremony include:

Wellspring - Awarded for Best Health/Wellness Design Solutions and Best Affordable Housing Community (30 to 60 units per acre), located in Long Beach, California, this project offers 88 affordable apartments along with a health and wellness center. It provides essential services to support the residents' well-being, particularly for formerly homeless seniors.

2. Casa Sueños - Recognized as the Best Affordable Housing Community (60 to 100 units per acre), this development is part of the Fruitvale Transit Village in Oakland, California. It features 181 affordable homes alongside facilities serving essential workers and individuals transitioning out of homelessness.

3. The Whole Child Interim Housing and Support Services Center - This project, situated in Santa Fe Springs, California, is awarded for Best Supportive/Transitional Housing. It offers housing for up to 40 families and includes various supportive amenities, forming the cornerstone of a unique
