ChangAn’s Vision for 2030 Unveiled
On April 29, 2025, ChangAn Automobile, a leader in carbon-friendly mobility technology, held its Overseas Partner Conference in Chongqing under the theme "Vast Ocean Plan: United Towards the Peak." The event welcomed over 500 partners from around 70 countries, all eager to engage in discussions about the company's global successes and its strategic roadmap for the future.
During his keynote address, Zhu Huarong, the Chairman of ChangAn, highlighted remarkable achievements over the past five years, particularly in the realms of new energy, innovation, and global business expansion. The company reported a staggering growth of 34.2% in global sales, reaching 2.684 million vehicles in 2024. Notably, 735,000 of these vehicles were powered by new energy sources, marking a significant shift towards sustainable automotive technologies. Furthermore, 536,000 units were sold internationally, underscoring ChangAn’s rising stature in global markets.
"Our dual approach to strengthening global competitiveness through long-term sustainability and localized operations is pivotal," Zhu remarked. To capitalize on this growth, ChangAn plans to target five key overseas markets and aims to enhance local manufacturing, branding, and customer service in the coming five years.
Achievements in International Sales and Production
According to Li Mingcai, Executive Vice President of ChangAn, the company reached crucial milestones internationally. Among these was the launch of its first overseas production facility for New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in Thailand and the establishment of eight international production partnerships, establishing a capacity of 580,000 units. In 2024, ChangAn made headlines as one of China's top three automobile exporters, with over 500,000 vehicles sold abroad, generating revenue exceeding $11 billion.
Additionally, ChangAn expanded its footprint into 20 new countries, resulting in a presence in over 100 countries and over 1,150 distribution channels worldwide. Its brands, including CHANG-AN, DEEPAL, and AVATR, gained recognition, and just 14 months after debuting the Vast Ocean Plan, ChangAn was honored by being included in the "BrandZ Top 50 Chinese Global Brands."
Focus on Technological Innovation
Wang Xiaofei, Executive Vice President, emphasized that technological innovation remains at the core of ChangAn's global strategy. The company has invested over 114.8 billion Yuan in research and development while assembling a diverse talent pool of 18,000 employees, including 5,000 dedicated to software and AI.
Looking ahead to 2025, ChangAn aims to introduce 20 new vehicle models globally, including 10 gasoline-powered vehicles and 10 NEVs, targeting various international markets. Fossil fuel vehicles will focus on regions in Central and South America, the Middle East, Africa, and Eurasia, while NEVs will cater to demands in the Asia-Pacific and European markets.
