Exciting Opening of the Setagaya Fukazawa Store

On May 8, 2023, Toyota Mobility Tokyo Corporation, under the leadership of President Yasuhiko Sato, held a completion ceremony for its latest branch, the Setagaya Fukazawa store, located in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo. The grand opening is set for May 24, making this a much-anticipated addition to the community.

This new store is a result of the merger and relocation of the former Todoroki and Oyamadai stores, marking it as the third such facility following similar moves for the Karasuyama and Kodaira BS Mae stores. The decision to unify these locations speaks to a strategy aimed at enhancing customer convenience and operational efficiency.

A Harmonious Design

Situated in a quiet residential area, the Setagaya Fukazawa store has been meticulously designed to blend in with its surroundings. The architectural plan incorporates wall greening techniques on the building's upper sections and maintains a lower height to ensure harmony with the neighborhood. Additionally, the tech shop is cleverly placed underground to minimize light, sound, and odors, thereby reducing the environmental impact on the nearby community.

Preparedness for Disasters

In light of Japan's vulnerability to natural disasters, the new store is equipped with essential facilities for both power and water supply. It features a backup electricity system with batteries and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, allowing for significant energy support during emergencies. This innovative approach includes a V2X (Vehicle to Everything) charging station for powering various outlets and lights if outages occur.

Moreover, similar to the Kodaira BS Mae store, the Setagaya Fukazawa location has installed a communal well, designated “Everyone's Well,” that can serve as a reliable source of drinking and utility water. This well will not only be accessible for the local community during normal operations but will also serve as an alternative water source during emergencies.
