SECCON 14: A Premier Event in Information Security



The SECCON 14, one of Japan's largest information security competitions, is attracting attention from diverse sectors. The event is organized by the Japan Network Security Association (JNSA) based in Minato, Tokyo, with Chairman Hiroshi Ezaki and the SECCON Executive Committee led by Satoshi Mimura announcing their plans for the 2025 edition.

What is SECCON?


SECCON, short for Security Contest, focuses primarily on the Capture The Flag (CTF) challenge, where teams compete to solve cybersecurity puzzles and retrieve hidden flags. This year's event promises an enriching experience with multiple activities designed for participants of various skill levels, including:

  • - SECCON CTF: The main competition, where teams from both Japan and abroad will compete.
  • - SECCON Beginners: A study session aimed at introducing novices to CTF concepts.
  • - CTF for GIRLS: A community for women interested in security technology, encouraging discussions and learning.
  • - SECCON Workshop: Hands-on sessions that immerse participants in practical cybersecurity scenarios.

SECCON CTF 14: Key Dates and Events


The main event, SECCON CTF 14, will take place as follows:
  • - Qualifying Rounds: December 13-14, 2025 (Online)
  • - Finals: February 28 - March 1, 2026 (On-site at Yurakucho, Tokyo)

The Cyber Conference and Workshops


Following the success of previous years, the Cyber Conference will again occur at the same venue as the finals. CTF for GIRLS: Empowering Women in Tech
