Chartwells Higher Education Partners with Random Acts of Kindness Foundation
In a remarkable move to foster and normalize kindness on college campuses, Chartwells Higher Education has joined forces with the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation for its third annual "Delight-Ful" event. Slated for February 10 to February 14, 2025, the initiative is expected to usher in a wave of positivity throughout college communities.
Since its inception, Delight-Ful has successfully inspired over 1.5 million acts of kindness, and this year, the goal is to surpass 2 million. This collaborative effort showcases Chartwells' ongoing commitment to creating an environment where kindness can flourish alongside culinary experiences.
This year's event promises a plethora of activities designed to engage students and staff alike. One of the key highlights is the opportunity for dining halls to become "Certified Kindness Kitchens." In this capacity, team members will be encouraged to take the Certified Kindness Pledge and participate in various 'RAKtivities'—activities focused on spreading kindness. The dining establishments that meet the criteria will proudly display their certification, indicating that they are spaces fostering compassion, respect, and empathy.
Eva Wojtalewski, CEO of Chartwells Higher Education, expressed her excitement about the initiative: "Delight-Ful embodies our dedication to creating meaningful experiences on campus that empower students to make a positive impact in their communities. We are excited to provide opportunities for students to unite and prioritize kindness and empathy through food and shared experiences."
In addition to kitchen certification, Delight-Ful will feature themed menus, community-oriented initiatives like First Year Eats, and an array of fun activities aimed at encouraging engagement. Noteworthy new additions for this year include donation stations, kindness scavenger hunts, and a 'Tell Me Something Good' positivity wall, alongside returning favorite activities like soup kits, pay-it-forward cards, and therapy dogs.
Delight-Ful is not just about acts of kindness; it's also about enhancing connections among students. The First Year Eats events will facilitate social interactions among newcomers to the college environment. Participants will have the chance to join fun activities, from teaching kitchen sessions to exploring opportunities for community involvement.
Reflecting on the spirit of the event, Chartwells hopes to make kindness a day-to-day occurrence on campuses nationwide. By building memorable experiences aligned with the Joy-Ful campaign, this initiative is another testament to Chartwells' focus on community engagement through dining that supports both personal and social development.
