In an inspiring turn of events, a 36-year-old Pakistani man named Muhammad has made significant strides in his battle against lymphoma, a form of aggressive blood cancer, through the revolutionary CAR-T therapy. After exhausting all standard treatment options locally, he traveled to Shanghai, China, to receive personalized immunotherapy at Jiahui International Cancer Center. Setting the Stage


Muhammad, who works in healthcare in Quetta, Pakistan, was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Despite undergoing several cycles of chemotherapy and an unsuccessful stem cell transplant, his condition worsened by early 2026, escalating to stage IVB with widespread metastasis to his lungs, pleura, and bones. On April 23, 2026, he received the personalized CAR-T cell infusion. During his hospitalization, Muhammad experienced only mild and manageable cytokine release syndrome, with no serious neurotoxicity reported. Observably, his clinical condition improved rapidly; his severe cancer-related pain subsided considerably, and his reliance on opioid medications dropped dramatically. Pre-discharge tests revealed reduced lesions and a normalization of significant laboratory indicators, marking a positive turnaround in his health.

Throughout this challenging journey, Jiahui’s international medical team provided comprehensive support, including translation services and halal meals to cater to his cultural and religious needs. Reflecting on his experience, Muhammad expressed gratitude, stating, “The Chinese people have been very accommodating. Doctors, nurses, and all staff were incredibly helpful.”

Following his successful treatment, he was discharged on May 7, 2026, and is expected to continue with regular follow-up checks and imaging in Pakistan.
