Unleashing eSports Potential in Nagoya
In an exciting announcement for the local gaming community, the Nagoya pro sports team, Nagoya OJA, backed by Nagoya Ōja Corporation, is set to host a special closed tournament for Street Fighter 6, titled "Ōja Dojo Supported by NTP Esports PLAZA." This event aims to not only enhance the skills of local players but also to discover and nurture new talents who will carry the future of Nagoya’s eSports scene.
Founded with the理念 of energizing Nagoya and Japan as a whole, Nagoya OJA has been actively involved in the eSports community since its inception in 2016. The team made its mark in the competitive fighting game scene by participating in the Street Fighter League: Pro-JP 2021, making significant strides to promote offline fan engagement events and tournaments like “Ōja Cup” and “License Challenge Tour.” Such initiatives have not only enriched the local competitive scene but have also mobilized the community to uplift eSports as a whole.

The tournament will take place bi-weekly on Wednesdays, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with the inaugural event scheduled for the 29th. Participants are encouraged to join via a dedicated Discord server where specific event details will be shared.

Nagoya OJA embodies the spirit of energizing the local community and expanding to a larger scale from Owari Mikawa to Japan and Asia. Initially a small eSports team, they launched a card gaming division in 2018, competing in the RAGE Shadowverse Pro League. In 2021, they expanded further into the fighting game genre by joining the competition of Street Fighter League: Pro-JP 2021, achieving impressive results including 2nd place in league matches and qualifying for playoffs.
