Tenda Launches SP Group Management Tool for SharePoint Online Users in 2025

Introduction

On May 1, 2025, Tenda, a Tokyo-based company, will launch its new software solution, the SP Group Management Tool, designed to streamline group permissions management in SharePoint Online. This innovative tool will allow users to efficiently manage group permissions across multiple SharePoint environments and will feature a promotional campaign offering discounts to early adopters.

Overview of SP Group Management Tool

The SP Group Management Tool aims to address the challenges users face with the complex nature of handling group permissions in SharePoint Online, which often involves cumbersome procedures and increased risk of mistakes. By implementing this tool, Tenda hopes to enhance user experience by consolidating group permission management into a single interface. This not only simplifies operations but also reduces the likelihood of errors during configuration, thus improving operational efficiency and helping with smoother transitions during handover situations.

Features and Benefits

With the SP Group Management Tool, users can experience a range of functionalities:
  • - Centralized Management: Users can consolidate SharePoint groups into a single management group, allowing for straightforward management of group members including viewing, registration, updates, and deletion seamlessly.
  • - Bulk Operations: The tool permits bulk operations such as adding or updating members across multiple SharePoint groups associated with a management group.
  • - Ease of Duplication: A management group can be duplicated for reuse of settings across different SharePoint groups and their members.
  • - CSV Export: Information related to the linked SharePoint groups and members can be exported in CSV format, facilitating reporting, and data oversight.
  • - Error Tracking: If any error occurs during operations, users can reference the processing logs to pinpoint the origins of errors and the specific groups involved.

Practical Applications

One of the significant advantages of this tool is its ability to facilitate user management across different SharePoint sites. Administrators can use a management group to register and update common users in bulk, providing a unified approach even when distinct access rights are necessary for various sites. This feature ensures compliance with security protocols while optimizing convenience for users.

Technical Requirements

The SP Group Management Tool will operate under specific client requirements:
  • - Compatible with Microsoft Windows 10/11 (32bit/64bit), in Japanese.
  • - Requires .NET Framework 4.6.x or higher (Note: .NET 6 onwards is not supported).

Limitations

Please note:
  • - The tool can only connect to SharePoint domains registered under the license information.
  • - Management features for security groups, distribution groups (Entra ID), and Microsoft 365 groups are not supported.

Tenda also offers a trial version of the SP Group Management Tool, allowing potential customers to explore its functionalities before making a purchase decision. It is recommended to test the tool within the customer's environment to ensure proper function prior to license acquisition.

However, in celebration of its launch, Tenda will provide a limited-time campaign, pricing it at only ¥750,000 (excluding tax) from May 1, 2025, to July 31, 2025, with delivery completion expected by August 31, 2025.
