JD Logistics Unveils Ambitious Global Expansion Plans for Swift Deliveries by 2025

JD Logistics' Vision for Global Expansion

JD Logistics, the logistics arm of JD.com, recently revealed its ambitious roadmap for international business development at the JINGDONG Logistics 2025 International Integrated Supply Chain Strategic Launch Event held in Shenzhen. This plan focuses on creating a seamless 2 to 3-day delivery service in numerous overseas markets by the year 2025.

Accelerating Growth with Three Core Networks

The initiative emphasizes enhancing JD Logistics' "three networks": a global warehousing network, an express delivery network, and an air freight network. These enhancements will enable the company to scale its global e-commerce omni-channel fulfillment services, expand its express delivery areas, and establish a comprehensive international air network, ultimately providing high-efficiency logistics services for overseas customers, Chinese brands, and cross-border merchants.

At the launch, JD Logistics also introduced other vital services, including the "Simplified Reverse Returns Service" and the "Overseas Warehouse Bulky Item Delivery and Installation Service." We can expect a surge in overseas warehouses in the coming year, increasing capacity by 100%, vital for the company’s burgeoning reputation as a reliable provider of supply chain infrastructure services.

Achieving the 2-3 Day Delivery Circle

For years, JD Logistics has upheld the philosophy of positioning goods as close to consumers as possible through robust supply chain logistics networks, effectively enabling local stocking for customers and merchants alike. By 2025, the company aims to finalize its delivery cycle of 2 to 3 days, allowing customers in 19 countries to benefit from expedited logistics through JD Logistics’ more than 50 self-operated overseas warehouses. Plans to further expand these warehouses will amplify their overseas storage capabilities by 100%.

Current Offerings

Presently, JD Logistics already provides a 2 to 3-day delivery service in various countries, including the USA, UK, France, Germany, Poland, the UAE, Japan, South Korea, and Australia. In select regions, customers can even receive their orders within a day.

Future Expansion Plans

In alignment with this delivery promise, JD Logistics plans to accelerate the establishment of new warehouses in Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas in 2025. A highly efficient and collaborative supply chain will further advance the 2-3 day delivery offerings in these new territories.

Comprehensive Global E-Commerce Services

With a thorough global logistics infrastructure and service network, JD Logistics strives to deliver a complete global e-commerce omni-channel fulfillment experience. This service is defined by seamless multi-channel processing with unified inventory management.

The company also encompasses a broad range of transportation services, including sea freight, air freight, truck shipping, trailer services, and value-added offerings like B2B/B2C shared warehousing, integrated forward and reverse logistics, bulky item delivery, and installation services.

Addressing After-Sales Challenges

To tackle post-sales processing challenges, JD Logistics’ Simplified Reverse Returns Service allows returns from any order location within 72 hours, ensuring quality testing for resale and properly handling damaged items, providing a solid hassle-free solution.

Specialized Delivery and Installation Services

JD Logistics also leverages its extensive experience in oversized goods delivery and assembly through its Overseas Warehouse Bulky Item Delivery and Installation service. This addresses common industry pain points such as service fragmentation, high damage rates, and resource limitations, offering tailored solutions for various large format products, including home delivery and installation backed by multi-channel truck shipping resources.

Building the Aerial Artery of Global Logistics

Further to its expansion, JD Logistics is developing a global logistics network dubbed "11668" to ease cross-border logistics. This framework includes:
1. A global air transport hub established at Wuhu Global Port.
2. A major base for JD Airlines located in Nantong, Jiangsu Province.
3. Six regional air hubs, including 68 pure freight airports, across both domestic and international borders.

Since launching its international express services in late 2023, JD Express has introduced two major products: "International Express" and "International Standard Express," which cater to the varied requirements of both merchants and consumers. Today, the service has successfully reached nearly 80 countries and regions, with delivery times as fast as three days from China to European and North American destinations.

Through these comprehensive service offerings and rapid expansion, JD Logistics is committed to achieving its vision of accelerated international business development, continuously building a global integrated supply chain logistics network that facilitates cost reductions, increased efficiency, and high-quality growth opportunities for businesses across several industries.
