Yutong Launches Its First Comprehensive Service Center in Europe to Support Electric Buses

Yutong's First European Service Center

Yutong Bus, a leading player in the electric bus market, has made a significant move by opening its first comprehensive service center in Europe on September 8 in Stokke, Norway. This milestone serves as a pivotal point in the company’s strategy to enhance the maintenance and support of electric vehicles across the continent.

A Multifunctional Hub

Spanning over 38,941 square meters, with 6,074 square meters of building space, the new service center is designed to be a one-stop solution for electric bus operators. It includes vehicle deliveries, after-sales service, spare parts provision, and professional training for technicians. This approach aims not only to streamline operations but also to ensure that customers receive timely and effective support throughout the lifecycle of their electric buses.

As Norway transitions to electric public transportation, the service center will provide enhanced maintenance capabilities, regulatory compliance checks, and local service flexibility. This will allow for more direct service options and systematic support for fleet operations, ultimately contributing to a greener public transport solution.

Comprehensive Service Offerings

Jack Li, CEO of Yutong for Central and Northern Europe, highlighted that the service center is equipped with a vast spare parts warehouse, diagnostic facilities, professional service stations, and specialized training equipment. "We aim to help customers reduce total vehicle-related costs while maximizing bus uptime," he mentioned.

By consolidating various service functions, Yutong ensures a more direct and efficient resolution of issues for its customers, thereby enhancing service delivery in the region.

The service center features seven standardized service bays, distinct repair areas for powertrains and major components, and specialized equipment for tasks such as wheel alignment, brake testing, and tire balancing. These facilities enable the center to conduct chassis repairs, work on electrical systems, air conditioning, and even manage minor accident damages, all of which play a crucial role in maintaining the operational efficiency of the vehicles.

Adhering to European Standards

Built according to EU standards, the service center includes specialized testing lines for mandatory annual vehicle inspections in Norway. The facility not only performs inspections but also conducts diagnostics and safety checks on-site, significantly reducing vehicle downtime and operational expenses for fleet operators.

With a spare parts warehouse measuring 2,300 square meters, the center stocks around 4,500 units of original Yutong parts, including those for batteries, engines, and electronic control systems. The availability of local inventory and replenishment from regional distribution centers aims to minimize wait times for parts and repairs, thus bolstering vehicle uptime and efficiency.

Commitment to Local Expertise

Training is a key component of the new service center. Equipped with classrooms for theoretical instruction and practical training spaces, it allows technicians to gain hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced trainers. The facility’s training programs cover a comprehensive range of topics related to the functionality and maintenance of fully electric buses, ensuring that local operators have access to expert knowledge and skills.

Through a combination of local expertise, standardized maintenance procedures, and robust spare parts inventory, Yutong remains committed to delivering exceptional service support throughout Europe as part of its `EnRoute+` global service care initiative. Following this launch, Yutong plans to develop localized service solutions across other markets, including the Netherlands, Chile, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia.

This strategic expansion not only reinforces local repair and maintenance capacities for electric buses but also enhances service flexibility, creates quality local jobs, and supports the electrification of public transport systems.
