Discover the Atelier de RE BONSAI™ Event!
KOMEHYO VINTAGE TOKYO Atelier, located in the vibrant Omotesando area and operated by Komehyo Co., Ltd., is set to host a captivating event called
atelier de RE BONSAI™, running from
April 11th to April 17th, 2026. This limited-time workshop combines the beauty of traditional Japanese bonsai with the innovative art form of RE BONSAI™, focusing on rejuvenation and artistic expression.
What is atelier de RE BONSAI™?
This unique initiative aims to breathe life back into dried bonsai trees, transforming them into beautiful pieces of art. Participants will have the opportunity to work alongside the talented bonsai artist Yoshio Suzuki and the TOUFU TOKYO team, creating their own RE BONSAI™ masterpiece. Not only will there be workshops where attendees can craft their personalized bonsai, but there will also be opportunities to contribute to a community art installation featuring cherry blossoms, celebrating the arrival of spring.
Event Highlights:
- - Workshop Sessions: Daily workshops at 1 PM, 3 PM, and 5 PM, accommodating six participants per session. Pre-registration is encouraged for the 5 PM session, with a participation fee of 11,000 yen (tax included).
- - RE BONSAI™ Art Creation: Participants will learn to make their own RE BONSAI™, equipped with dried leaves and preserved branches, ensuring each piece captures a unique charm.
- - Cherry Blossom Installation: Everyone is invited to add a branch to the central RE BONSAI™ installation, creating a vast display of cherry blossoms over the event week.
- - Special Merchandise: The atelier will offer a variety of RE BONSAI™ items, including decorative pieces and apparel like T-shirts and hoodies, all made for ardent bonsai lovers.
What is RE BONSAI™?
RE BONSAI™ reinterprets the art of bonsai through the lens of sustainability and creativity. This practice involves taking bonsai that have ended their natural life cycle and revitalizing them into stunning artworks by adding vibrant, eco-friendly materials. Each piece tells a unique story, showcasing the history and aesthetics of bonsai art while ensuring no maintenance is required, making it ideal for modern living.
