XCMG Launches its First Overseas Center for Mining Equipment Remanufacturing in Indonesia

On September 16, 2026, XCMG officially initiated the construction of its first international remanufacturing center in Balikpapan, Indonesia. This significant milestone not only marks XCMG's foray into overseas bases for servicing mining equipment but also signifies a transformative step towards localized aftermarket services.

The newly established facility will specialize in the overhaul and remanufacturing of crucial components of mining equipment, regional storage of spare parts, as well as the training of local technical personnel. Additionally, it aims to streamline various key processes which include the recovery and inspection of used components, repairs, remanufacturing, procurement of spare parts, and on-site support. This comprehensive approach is designed to create an effective and locally responsive aftermarket service network that covers the entire operational lifecycle of mining equipment.

In line with global standards, the remanufacturing center is set to adopt Lean principles for its quality management system. Once operational, it will facilitate major maintenance tasks locally, significantly diminishing equipment downtime and response times while ensuring the reliability of refurbished components. Such capabilities are expected to help clients minimize operational costs, enhance equipment availability, and boost operational efficiency. It also illustrates XCMG's evolution from merely an equipment supplier to a comprehensive solution provider that encapsulates the entire lifecycle of mining machinery.

According to a representative from the Indonesian mining sector, the establishment of this remanufacturing center is crucial in expediting service operations and spare parts supply, while mitigating losses associated with downtime. "This development strengthens our confidence in deepening our partnership with XCMG," they remarked.

With over three decades of presence in Indonesia, XCMG has consistently worked to enhance its local capabilities across the entire equipment value chain. The groundbreaking of this facility represents the latest achievement in a series of advancements propelling local operations forward this year. Notably, just days prior to the groundbreaking, XCMG revealed the establishment of XCMG Indonesia Finance Company (ABC Multi Finance) during the Mining Indonesia 2026 exhibition held in Jakarta from September 9 to 12. This initiative significantly widens XCMG's local offerings, encompassing not just equipment, technologies, and services, but also integrated financing solutions.

Earlier this year, the company also finalized the construction and launched a production base dedicated to renewable energies in Indonesia, bringing manufacturing and delivery closer to the local market. In addition, it inaugurated an R&D center tailored for adapting equipment to hot, humid environments and complex operational conditions.

By extending its existing capacities in R&D, manufacturing, procurement, sales, after-sales service, and financing to capably handle the remanufacturing and refurbishment of components locally, XCMG aims to provide more comprehensive solutions to Indonesia’s mining and infrastructure sectors. This positions XCMG to assist these industries in transitioning towards greener and more efficient operations.
