Survey Reveals Dental Patients' Views on Record Sharing
A recent survey conducted by Vyne Dental has shed light on the preferences of dental patients regarding the management of their health records. Findings reveal that an impressive 82.34% of respondents feel it is crucial that their dental information, including records and x-rays, can be easily shared among dental providers. This overwhelming consensus speaks to a rising demand for seamless interoperability within the dental industry, which is currently lagging behind in this vital aspect of patient care.
The survey, which included 300 dental patients, found that more than half, specifically 50.3%, had to undergo repeat dental tests or x-rays due to their new dentist's lack of access to prior records. This statistic illustrates a significant inefficiency within the current system, where patients are often required to undergo repetitive procedures that not only inconvenience them but also lead to unnecessary healthcare costs.
