Move Industries Brings a Fresh Start to Movement

In a significant development for the blockchain ecosystem, Movement Labs has announced the launch of Move Industries, signaling a new era for its foundational Movement community. Established by key Movement employees, this fresh initiative aims to streamline operations and fortify the organization’s commitment to blockchain technology and governance.

As of May 7, 2025, Torab Torabi, who is one of the co-founders of Move Industries, will assume the role of CEO, leading the new entity alongside Will Gaines, who will take on the roles of president and chief marketing officer. Meanwhile, Young Yang Liauw will oversee the engineering department, bringing invaluable experience from his tenure at Aptos and previous roles at Novi and Meta, where he contributed to the Libra project.

The inception of Move Industries marks a pivotal shift aimed at sustaining Movement's stance as a premier blockchain ecosystem built on the Move programming language. The enterprise is built on three central pillars: community and branding, engineering and product, and ecosystem and business development. By reinforcing accountability measures, Move Industries is set to create a stronger foundation for sustainable growth and future success within the Movement ecosystem.

In another change, Movement Labs has suspended its co-founder Rushi Manche. Furthermore, Cooper Scanlon, another co-founder, has voluntarily stepped aside to allow Torabi to take the reins at Move Industries. "It's been an incredible adventure bringing the Movement vision to life, and I am very proud of what we have accomplished together," remarked Scanlon. "Torab has been instrumental in the development of Movement from the start, and I have complete confidence in his leadership and vision for the future.
