Accelerating Corporate Branding through Medicine: Shogo Okinaga Appointed as SMO's Chief Health Doctor

Accelerating Corporate Branding through Medicine

On March 1, 2026, SMO Co., Ltd., a pioneer in purpose-driven branding, announced the appointment of Dr. Shogo Okinaga as their Chief Health Doctor (CHD). This strategic move aims not only to further promote corporate health management within SMO but also to provide clients with expert insights to integrate medical perspectives into their business strategies.

Background to the Appointment: Bridging Purpose to Reality

SMO has been instrumental in guiding numerous companies in defining and implementing their organizational purposes. For a purpose to resonate and drive effective actions, the organization itself must be in a state of wellness. By welcoming Dr. Okinaga, who transitioned from banking to medicine and possesses extensive knowledge in organizational design, SMO seeks to elevate health from merely a perk to a fundamental management strategy. This transformation aims to align declarative purposes with the actualities of a healthy organizational structure, paving the way for a new generation of branding initiatives.

Exclusive Dialogue: "Designing Health Management to Strengthen Companies"

In conjunction with Dr. Okinaga’s appointment, an exclusive dialogue between CEO Mikiko Saito and Dr. Okinaga has been published. In this discussion, they redefine the role of an industrial physician—not just as a preventive measure but also as a crucial starting point for maximizing productivity. They explore innovative health management practices that integrate both defense against risks and offensive strategies that encourage a thriving workplace culture. Read the full article here.
