Encounter the Healing Journey in Chino and Takashina

On September 30, 2023, Brangista Media launched a captivating digital magazine edition titled 'Tabiiro FOCAL', focusing on Chino City and Takashina Town in Nagano Prefecture. This special edition, created in collaboration with the Chino Tourism and Community Development Organization, aims to elevate local tourism through sustainable initiatives.

Located approximately two hours from Tokyo by train, Chino City lies in the heart of Nagano Prefecture, nestled beneath the majestic Yatsugatake Mountains at elevations ranging from 770 to 1,200 meters. Known for its stunning highland resorts and hot springs, it has long been a favored retreat for those seeking respite from the hustle and bustle of urban life.

Takashina Town, adjacent to Chino, unfolds at the base of Mount Tateshina, one of Japan's renowned hundred mountains. This area boasts a striking elevation difference, featuring both a highland zone above 1,500 meters and a gentle hillside area between 600 to 700 meters.

The focus of this edition is to enhance awareness and attract visitors to the beautiful lake resorts of Chino and Takashina, including Lake Tateshina, Lake Shirakaba, and Lake Megami. The latest issue features actress Ami Toma, who makes her debut in 'Tabiiro'. Throughout her serene exploration of the lakes, she delights in various scenic spots, embracing the tranquil charm the lakes have to offer.

A Refreshing Weekend Getaway

Traveling alongside actress Ami Toma, she expressed her excitement, stating, 'I previously had few opportunities to see lakes.' While touring the three sparkling lakes, she noted the numerous picnic-goers and adventurers and remarked, 'They look like they are having so much fun.'

Ami also visited the 'Kita Yatsugatake Ropeway', which allows easy access to areas exceeding 2,000 meters, even for those who aren’t experienced hikers. Taking the ropeway from the mountain's base station at 1,771 meters to the summit at 2,237 meters, she shared her thrill, saying, 'I love heights, so this is incredibly exciting!' The breathtaking views truly captivated her.

Additionally, she explored the Chino City Sengen Jomon Archaeological Museum, home to Japan’s first designated national treasure, a clay figurine, and the 'Tateshina Free Farmers' Market', showcasing local specialties from Nagano Prefecture—these attractions are perfect stops that complement a lakeside outing.

Unveiling the Lakes: A Close Look

The centerpiece of the journey in Chino and Takashina are the breathtaking Lake Tateshina, Lake Shirakaba, and Lake Megami. Created as agricultural reservoirs between 1940 and 1960, these beautiful spots have now become popular attractions, offering both tourism and relaxation for locals.

This feature delves into the unique charms of each lake, highlighting their distinctive attractions while showcasing various activities available such as Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP), aqua cycling, tent sauna experiences, and underwater drone explorations.
