LX Pantos Successfully Completes Complex Defense Logistics Project for Advanced Weaponry

On September 8, 2026, LX Pantos, under the leadership of President Lee Yong-ho, announced the successful completion of an intricate cross-border defense logistics project that involved the transport of advanced Air-to-Air Missiles (AAM) from France to South Korea. This project was executed for the Marine Attack Helicopter (MAH) Program of the Republic of Korea Marine Corps, in collaboration with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA).

Project Overview

The AAMs were procured from a European defense contractor, making their journey from Châteauroux Airport in France to Incheon International Airport in South Korea aboard a dedicated charter flight arranged by LX Pantos. Once arrived, the missiles were transported by truck to the Marine Corps unit in Pohang. To ensure safety during transit, the missiles were the sole cargo on the charter flight, which had to adhere to stringent safety regulations due to the highly sensitive nature of the shipment.

The missiles, classified as Class 1 explosive materials with compatibility group E, were subject to an elevated level of security. Transporting hazardous materials like defense equipment requires specialized knowledge and compliance with both the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations and relevant national air safety laws. LX Pantos coordinated the transport, securing flight overflight permits from 14 different European and Middle Eastern countries, as well as Asia, while ensuring seamless multimodal logistics through its global network, including its European subsidiaries.

Expansion and Future Plans

LX Pantos has been augmenting its operations in defense logistics, particularly after receiving an "excellent" rating in the 2024 security assessment conducted by the Korean Defense Counterintelligence Command. Moreover, the company achieved a Level 3 (AL3) rating under the Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange (TISAX), indicating its compliance with stringent global information security standards.

The company spokesperson highlighted the successful project as a testament to LX Pantos' expertise in security, protection, and logistics, asserting their commitment to support global defense clients and solidify their standing in the defense logistics market.
