The Background of the Event

Advancements in technology have opened doors for individuals with severe physical disabilities, allowing them to participate in society through the use of eye-tracking devices and various switches. However, there is still a lack of individual support from professionals to help these individuals select and effectively use suitable inclusive technology for daily living.

In response, Florence and TechnoTool, acknowledging the immense potential of inclusive technology to expand children's worlds, have previously organized experiential events like the Para e-Sports Festival in 2024 and 2025. The aim is to transform the passive observation of games into interactive experiences where children can become players themselves. Feedback from previous events showed that 88.9% of the children felt that their capabilities were increasing, and 100% expressed a desire to use technology at home.

Feedback from participating families highlighted the need for broader applications beyond gaming, including drawing, creating products for sale, and playing music. This year, the event will expand the types of technological experiences offered, including uses that directly relate to daily life.

Three Key Features of the Inclusive Tech Festival 2026

1. Increased Participation: This year's festival will double the participation capacity to 60 families, reflecting the high demand for inclusive tech experiences among families with disabled children.
2. Broadened Activities: In addition to gaming, activities will encompass creative arts with drawing tablets, music playing, 3D printing, and even household technology use, providing practical applications of inclusive tech.
3. Inclusive Participation for Siblings: Siblings will actively participate in the experiences as equals. By utilizing adapted controllers, they can engage in cooperative gameplay, fostering an inclusive environment that promotes shared play and interaction.

The festival also offers specialized support from occupational therapists and experts in assistive technologies, ensuring every child's experience is individualized and beneficial.

Through this groundbreaking event, the organizers aim to demonstrate the transformative power of inclusive technology and create a space where all children, regardless of ability, can come together to learn, play, and grow.
