Seminar Announcement: Fuel Policies for a Decarbonized Society
The Asian Clean Fuels Association (ACFA), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting clean and efficient fuel supply, is gearing up to host a significant seminar on April 21, 2026, in Akasaka, Tokyo. The event focuses on the international trends of biofuels and the future direction of fuel policies, crucial for enhancing air quality and facilitating decarbonization efforts across the globe.
As Japan embarks on its transition towards decarbonization, the consideration of higher concentration biofuels (E10/E20) is currently under review. Stakeholders are demanding a comprehensive examination of how fuel policies should evolve to meet environmental and health standards. This seminar marks a milestone as ACFA’s inaugural event in Japan, aiming to foster dialogue and understanding of the role and implications of various oxygenated compounds, including ethers and ethanol, on emissions, public health, environmental sustainability, fuel pricing, and engine performance.
The session will feature an esteemed lineup of experts from different countries involved in policy formation and technological advancements in fuel development. They will present data-driven discussions centered around significant tools such as the EPA's Motor Vehicle Emission Simulator (MOVES), life-cycle analysis of gasoline, and actual fuel performance data, offering the latest international insights into land and marine biofuel policies.
