Heinz Trade-Up: Exchange Unwanted Ketchup for a Bottle in Dubai

Heinz Trade-Up Initiative in Dubai

Have you ever opened your kitchen drawer only to find it stuffed with an assortment of unwanted takeaway ketchup sachets that you know you’ll never use? This common kitchen dilemma spurred Heinz to introduce an innovative campaign aptly named the Heinz Trade-Up. Available from April 16 to 20, 2025, this initiative encourages Dubai residents to trade in their spare ketchup sachets for a full bottle of Heinz ketchup, a move aimed at reducing waste while enhancing the dining experience.

Tackling Food Waste

According to a recent survey by Heinz, approximately 70% of UAE residents reported having unwanted ketchup sachets in their homes, with nearly half admitting to hoarding 5 to 10 packets. This clutter has not only made for inconvenient storage but has also been a source of frustration, with 54.7% of respondents labeling their accumulation as annoying. The Heinz Trade-Up provides a fun way to combat this waste problem. Residents can rid themselves of those lingering sachets, which often end up in the trash, and instead receive something useful.

How It Works

The Heinz Trade-Up will take place across various popular locations within Dubai, including Jumeirah Village Circle, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Discovery Gardens, and Bur Dubai. Participants can visit tailor-made Heinz vending machines and exchange every five unused ketchup sachets for a full bottle of Heinz ketchup. This unique machine allows consumers to clear out their kitchen stash while enjoying a beloved product.

Passant El Ghannam, the Marketing Director at Kraft Heinz MEA, noted, "Fans of Heinz take their ketchup seriously, often accumulating packets they didn't buy. With the Heinz Trade-Up, we're offering a fun way to upgrade those leftover sachets into something they can truly enjoy."

By initiating this clever exchange, Heinz not only promotes its brand but also advocates for sustainability by encouraging consumers to rethink their usage of takeaway packets.
