The New Standards


Created in collaboration with the Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau and academic partners including the Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School and Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), these standards signify a major milestone. The first standard, T/SPSTS 035-2024, lays out comprehensive definitions for the performance and functionality of grid-forming storage systems and devices. This standard serves as a clear technical guideline for planning and implementation in key urban areas like Shenzhen.

The second standard, T/SPSTS 036-2024, provides practical procedures for black start scenarios, essential for restoring systems during widespread outages or grid disturbances. The establishment of these standards represents a crucial step towards the reliable operation of energy storage systems in various scenarios.
