ASTHOM Partners Holds Its Third General Meeting in Los Angeles

ASTHOM Partners convened its third general meeting in Los Angeles, USA. The event saw the participation of 30 representatives from six member firms. This meeting aimed to introduce three newly joined firms, provide a one-year activity report, and share discussions regarding significant tax topics and trends affecting Japanese companies worldwide.
The members reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration among the firms with the goal of becoming the "most trusted global network". ASTHOM continues its mission to support international business activities of Japanese companies through what they describe as "human-centered" services.

1. ASTHOM Annual Activity Report
The meeting started with a comprehensive report detailing the activities and engagements of ASTHOM over the past year. This report underscored the network's rapid growth and development as it expands its reach and capability to address the unique needs of Japanese businesses operating overseas.

(1) AGS Consulting (ASEAN Region)
AGM members received insights into the support structures available in various ASEAN nations, showcasing service lines and case studies that highlight current hot topics affecting the region.
(2) Hotta Liesenberg Saito LLP (USA)
Insights were shared regarding the dynamics of the Trump tariffs and the latest updates on the U.S. tax system, alongside important case studies to illuminate macroeconomic trends.
(3) Blick Rothenberg (UK)
A critical analysis of the UK budget proposal was discussed, along with an update on the UK tax legislation affecting Japanese companies, including newly enacted accounting standards and corporate law amendments.

Examining Japanese-Australian relations, they elaborated on the evolving landscape for Japanese companies within Australia, emphasizing collaborative opportunities and strategic alignments.
(6) I-GLOCAL Group (Vietnam)
This session highlighted the attractiveness of the Vietnamese market, articulating current hot topics and trends that Japanese companies should consider.
