Introduction to the Tonami Tulip Fair and Parking Innovations
The 75th
Tonami Tulip Fair will run from April 22 to May 5, 2026, showcasing an astonishing display of 3.5 million tulips across 300 varieties. Visitors from all over Japan flock to this vibrant festival, making it an essential cultural event in the region. However, the influx of attendees has raised challenges, particularly regarding parking management.
Historically, the parking situation has faced congestion issues due to the reliance on cash transactions at the entry points, leading to long wait times for incoming vehicles. Moreover, ensuring sufficient staffing to manage the parking operations has become increasingly difficult, necessitating a more efficient and streamlined system.
Implementation of Times Parking Caravan
In response to these challenges, the
Tonami City Flower, Greenery, and Culture Foundation is partnering with
Times 24 Co., Ltd. to introduce the
Times Parking Caravan for the first time during this year's fair. This mobile parking management service is designed to address temporary parking needs during events by installing cashless payment machines, license plate recognition cameras, and power supply facilities right on the parking site.
By shifting from the traditional cash-based, staff-operated entry system to an automated camera-based, cashless payment system, the new approach aims to alleviate vehicle congestion and improve operational efficiency. This innovation will not only help reduce wait times but will also collect valuable data regarding entry and exit patterns, duration of stay, and the geographical origins of attendees, which can be utilized in planning future events.
Event and Parking Details
The temporary parking lot will be situated at Nakamaru Ground in Tonami City, specifically at 200-1 Nakamaru, Tonami, Toyama Prefecture. The facility will be open from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM throughout the festival period, accommodating up to 840 vehicles, with a parking fee of 500 yen for standard vehicles per entry.
Our Vision
Both the Tonami City Flower, Greenery, and Culture Foundation and Times 24 are committed to enhancing the accessibility and experience for visitors at the
Tonami Tulip Fair. By establishing a seamless parking operation, they aim to create a sustainable framework for event management that prioritizes visitor comfort and operational effectiveness. This partnership represents a significant step forward in event logistics, ensuring that the festival can continue to thrive and attract guests year after year.

Times Parking Caravan, the
Tonami Tulip Fair is set to provide an enhanced visitor experience, minimizing the stress of parking and maximizing the enjoyment of vibrant festivities.
