A Celebration of Modern Ceramics: Shota Miyashita's Pottery at BASIC AND ACCENT
From August 27 to September 16, 2026, BASIC AND ACCENT will host a special event showcasing the remarkable pottery of modern artist Shota Miyashita across its 14 locations nationwide and online. This limited-time event promises to highlight Miyashita's artistry, integrating it with select items that characterize the BASIC AND ACCENT brand.
A Unique Career Journey
Shota Miyashita is a distinctive modern ceramic artist who transitioned from a career as a hairdresser to pottery without formal training in ceramics or kiln technology. His unconventional path has resulted in the creation of beautiful pieces that reflect a blend of innovation and tradition. From August 27, a selection of his finely crafted works will be available at BASIC AND ACCENT stores, curated by the company’s buyers who sought out the artist in person.
Two standout pieces featured in this showcase are the
Kaleido Mug Cup and the
G-E-N Mug, each priced at ¥6,600. Both pieces embody exceptional craftsmanship and will be complemented by various high-quality culinary tools selected by BASIC AND ACCENT.
Seasonal Dining Experience
As autumn approaches, BASIC AND ACCENT will present tableware that not only showcases Miyashita’s creations but also marries them with elegant table accessories like glassware and silver cutlery. This event aims to inspire diners with a pleasant transition from summer to autumn tablescapes. For instance,
Picard & Wielpütz knives and forks range from ¥1,320 to ¥1,760, while
ZWIESEL’s white wine glasses are each priced at ¥3,410. These selections aim to enhance the dining experience, creating an inviting ambiance for seasonal gatherings.
An Event for All Styles
This collaboration beautifully represents the fusion of BASIC AND ACCENT’s philosophy, which embraces diverse styles, and Miyashita's innovative approach to pottery. Together, they invite customers to explore a curated collection that celebrates creativity in artistry and functional design. We encourage every visitor to enjoy the unique combinations presented in stores, as there are various pieces to discover, each contributing to their own distinctive table setting.
Please note that product availability may vary by location, and guests are invited to consult with staff at any store for specific details.
