In an impressive move to elevate corporate member services, Giftie Inc., a Tokyo-based company specializing in e-gift platforms, has announced the launch of a new plugin that allows businesses to seamlessly sell e-gifts directly through their member service sites and applications. This innovative functionality will be made available starting April 2025.

As part of its initial collaboration, Giftie has partnered with Merpay, the payment platform of the popular Japanese flea market app, Mercari. This partnership enables members of Mercari to purchase e-gifts utilizing their sales revenue or points within the platform. The newly introduced “Mercari Gift” service will allow customers to choose from approximately 550 e-gift items across 50 brands, providing a rich selection of gifting options like Starbucks drink tickets and Amazon gift cards, starting from April 22, 2025.

Giftie operates an integrated e-gift platform, providing services that encompass everything from e-gift issuance to distribution. Key services include the casual gifting platform,
giftee®, an e-gifting system for businesses, and various digital solutions for municipalities. The launch of the new plugin adds yet another dimension to their offerings, enabling businesses to create customized e-gift sites tailored to their specific needs. With this plugin, companies can enhance member satisfaction by providing a convenient and engaging gifting experience.
Members can link their account IDs to the service, allowing them to purchase e-gifts using various payment methods within the app. Once purchased, the e-gifts can be redeemed by the buyers or gifted to friends and family through email or social media, thus broadening the appeal of e-gifting.
