Central Medience Secures Sponsorship for Metran's Rehabilitation Support
On May 23, 2025,
Central Medience Co., Ltd. announced its sponsorship agreement with
Metran Co., Ltd. to aid in the latter's civil rehabilitation process. Following Metran's filing for rehabilitation with the Tokyo District Court on February 27, 2025, this partnership is aimed at providing much-needed financial and managerial support.
Agreement Details
The sponsorship agreement falls under Article 174, Paragraph 1 of the Civil Rehabilitation Act, and is contingent on court approval regarding the rehabilitation plan. Through this arrangement, Metran will transition into a wholly-owned subsidiary of Central Medience. This new structure aims to bolster Metran's operational strategies and support its business restructuring efforts with significant resources from Central Medience.
Background of the Rehabilitation Support
Founded in 1984, Metran has established itself as a leader in developing
high-frequency oscillation (HFO) ventilators for premature and neonatal patients. Metran's innovative ventilators and related medical devices have continually evolved to meet the pressing demands of healthcare providers. Widely utilized in
NICUs (Neonatal Intensive Care Units), these products play a crucial role in the care and survival of low birth weight and premature infants.
Central Medience operates under the guiding principle of “Never Stop Healthcare,” positioning itself as a
Medical Integrator® that offers comprehensive back-office services for healthcare management. By providing operational support to medical institutions throughout Kanto and beyond, Central Medience efficiently handles aspects such as business, resources, and staffing. Their integrated services encompass procurement, logistics, and maintenance related to medical equipment. Thanks to a sophisticated real-time inventory management system, they ensure stable support for healthcare settings, allowing medical professionals to focus on their critical duties. This enables healthcare management optimization and the persistent delivery of high-quality medical services.
A Vision for the Future
Central Medience's collaboration with Metran is set to fuse Metran’s technical prowess in respiratory device manufacturing with Central Medience’s robust supply chain and healthcare institution networks. This synergy is aimed at enhancing supply capabilities both domestically and internationally. Future plans include expanding Metran’s marketplace presence abroad and uncovering new distribution channels.
Additionally, Central Medience will leverage its corporate foundation to provide Metran with the necessary capital, human resources, and management structures that will facilitate a successful revival.
