New Cooperation Agreement Between Technos College and JHA Promotes Sports-Based Development

Promoting Talent Development Through Sports

In a significant step towards enhancing talent development and social contribution, Technos College, which comprises the Tokyo Engineering College and the Tokyo Air Travel and Hotel College, has entered into a comprehensive cooperation agreement with the Japan Hockey Association (JHA) headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo. This agreement aims to leverage each organization's resources to foster education through sports, stimulate local communities, and address social issues collaboratively.

The partnership has seen previous collaborative initiatives such as the "Sakura Japan in Paris" project, which utilized social media for outreach, and a promotional video titled "Get Hooked on Hockey in 120 Seconds," aimed at engaging younger audiences. These projects emphasized the importance of creativity and hands-on learning experiences for students while enhancing the visibility and attractiveness of field hockey in Japan.

As a cornerstone of this new agreement, students from Technos College have designed a commemorative logo for the upcoming 100th All Japan Men's Hockey Championship, set to take place in the fall of 2026. The logo, underpinned by the motif "100," illustrates the spirited nature of the sport. Using gold as a dominant color signifies both the rich history and dignity of the Japanese hockey arena while capturing the enthusiastic sprint forward of the national hockey scene.

The adopted logo will serve as a key visual throughout the championship's promotional materials, including posters, websites, programs, social media, and venue decorations. As part of the collaboration, there are plans to expand collective efforts into various event operations and sports business facets. The initiative aims to develop the next generation of talent through project-based learning (PBL) and create social value through sports, ultimately contributing to the sustainable growth of local communities.

Journey Towards Partnership with JHA

Technos College promotes a project-based curriculum across all disciplines, encouraging students to propose solutions to a variety of social challenges. Special emphasis is placed on the social value generated by sports as essential to realizing the concept of "well-being." Since 2024, the college has collaborated with the Japan Hockey Association to improve the knowledge of the sport and foster the next generation of players.

Through media-focused programs, students are involved in video productions showcasing the exciting aspects of field hockey and using social media for public relations strategies.

Previous Initiatives

  • - 2024: Launch of the "Sakura Japan in Paris" project on social media
  • - 2025: Creation of a promotional video called "Get Hooked on Hockey in 120 Seconds" for children and adolescents.

Future Collaborations Post-Agreement

With the recent agreement, Technos College will expand its collaboration in various fields, including:
  • - Promotion and advancement of field hockey
  • - Implementation of project-based learning through sports
  • - Initiatives for community revitalization and solving social issues
  • - Production of public relations materials, video content, and digital assets
  • - Management of sports events and volunteer activities

Kickoff Project

As the first collaborative effort following this agreement, a ceremonial project to celebrate the 100th All Japan Men's Hockey Championship will launch. In this project, Technos College students will design the championship's commemorative logo, produce promotional videos, and develop outreach strategies. The intent is to create real-world problem-solving opportunities for students and establish a brand congruent with this remarkable occasion.

Furthermore, Technos College seeks to establish a new model of collaboration wherein education and sports create mutual value through sponsorship of this prestigious event.

Student's Comment on Logo Creation

Ayano Mikami, a fourth-year design student at Technos College, expressed her excitement, stating, "I am incredibly honored to be involved in such a significant milestone for the 100th anniversary. The logo incorporates the intensity and speed of men's hockey, using gold to represent the celebration and excellence of this centenary. I hope this logo inspires more people to appreciate the excitement and beauty of hockey!"
