Exclusive JR Can Matsurika Express

Suntory is set to launch its "Matsurika Green Tea Mix Can" in collaboration with JR East, and to celebrate this, they will host an extraordinary event aboard a special Shinkansen service, the "JR Can Matsurika Express." This unique experience will take place on October 25, 2025, exclusively on the Nozomi train service connecting Tokyo and Shin-Osaka.

The event invites 20 lucky participants (10 pairs) to enjoy a guided tasting session featuring the newly released drink. This event will revolve around a specially decorated train car, themed around the JR brand. The décor will include garlands and elements inspired by the railway experience, creating an atmospheric setting for our guests.

Attendees can indulge in a diverse range of drinks from a bar counter on board, showcasing the "Jasmine Shochu Matsurika" combined in various styles, including the popular "JJ" (a mix of jasmine shochu and jasmine tea), expertly paired with local delicacies from along the Shinkansen route. The journey from Tokyo Station to Shin-Osaka Station will last approximately two and a half hours, allowing guests to fully indulge in the charisma of JR while enjoying their refreshments.

About the "Matsurika Green Tea Mix Can"

The "Matsurika Green Tea Mix Can" will be available at convenience stores nationwide starting October 28, 2025, in limited quantities. The "Jasmine Shochu Matsurika" has become popular for its innovative mixing options, including the JR (Jasmine Shochu with green tea). With this new canned version, Suntory aims to reach an even broader audience with the allure of the JR experience.

Crafted to complement the shochu, the can contains a blend of three different kinds of tea leaves, producing a rich, flavorful green tea essence. This blend is combined with gyokuro shochu for a delicate taste that is light and refreshing. The can's design prominently features rice motifs and wordings that emphasize the drink's unique characteristics, including being "sugar-free, non-carbonated," and containing an alcohol content of 4%.
