A Classic Reimagined

This nostalgic comedy, which has captured the hearts of audiences over the years, will be performed for the fifth time, promising to be more grand than ever. The story revolves around Momoko Hanada, a seemingly ordinary woman whose life takes a sharp turn when a mysterious man appears, proclaiming, 'You will die in a week.' This man, known as Joe, an angel, comes to fulfill her wish. When asked, she wishes to be sent back to 1973, the year when she faced many challenges, including her relationship with her irresponsible father, Kanta.

As Momoko navigates her past, the audience is treated to a heartwarming comedic exploration of nostalgia set to the tunes of Showa-era songs.

Journey of Shukuriimu

Founded in 1985 by its lead, Tamaki Matsuda, and only two original members, the company has evolved significantly. Initially, the group focused on inviting guest actors for each production to enhance storytelling depth. After the departure of director and actor Tohru Kuramoto in 1994, Matsuda took on both writing and directing duties. Now, Shukuriimu consists of two main members, Matsuda and Yokoi, who explore various facets of love through their unique, fast-paced narratives. All of their plays are based on original scripts by Matsuda, creating a distinct theatrical experience.
