Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Systems Triumphs at Red Dot Design Award 2025
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Systems, part of the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group, has proudly announced that its innovative remote controller for air conditioning, the
RC-ES1, has been awarded the prestigious
Red Dot Design Award 2025 in the product design category. The Red Dot Design Award, established in Germany in 1955, is regarded as one of the top three design awards globally, alongside the US's IDEA and Germany's iF Design Award.
The award recognizes exceptional design across three categories: product design, brand & communication design, and design concepts. Receiving recognition in the product design category underscores the sophisticated engineering and aesthetic appeal of the RC-ES1.
The RC-ES1 is designed specifically for use in various settings such as offices, hotels, and retail environments. It features a sleek design created in collaboration with
Tensa Industrial Design, an Italian design firm based in Milan. The remote controller is predominantly black and boasts a compact and flat structure, measuring 86mm × 86mm × 17mm. This design allows the device to harmoniously blend with diverse interior styles, making it an attractive addition to any environment.
One of the standout features of the RC-ES1 is its intuitive operation, thanks to the pictogram display on the device’s screen. This design choice makes it user-friendly for individuals of all ages and nationalities, ensuring that anyone can navigate its functionalities with ease.
In addition, the RC-ES1 supports
Bluetooth® wireless technology. This feature enables remote control and settings adjustment directly from a smartphone using a dedicated app. The app is designed to accommodate three distinct modes: general user, administrator, and service. Each mode caters to specific operational needs, such as controlling the remote, saving and transferring settings data, and reviewing maintenance information. Furthermore, any settings data entered and saved via the app can automatically be transmitted to up to 20 remote controllers within Bluetooth® connectivity range, significantly enhancing operational efficiency.
Through this award, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Systems reaffirms its commitment to developing technologies that resonate with customer needs. The company aims to deliver versatile heating and cooling solutions that address a diverse range of requirements. This recognition is not just an accolade; it serves as motivation for continuous innovation and customer-centric advancements in their technologies.
